Calibrate Your Monitor
One of the first steps you should take as a beginner photographer is to calibrate your monitor. Monitor calibration will ensure that you create vibrant, high-quality images across all your devices not just the computer that you are processing your photos on. For example this breath taking image from Yellowstone National Park should have vivid colors when viewed on a laptop, cell phone or when printed with a wide gamut high quality printer to hang on your wall.
Here is a lesson from our TRUE COLORS TUTORIALS where Alan Winslow explains why monitor calibration is absolutely essential.
