How To Train a Photographer
We spent a good chunk of January in Australia, shooting The Ultimate Landscape Photography Course. It was hard work, but we had way too much fun doing it – laughing at each other’s antics, trying to learn to speak “Australian”, and getting to know Johny and Brent. We even invited Brent’s awesome kids to join us one morning to create this video. The kids were so much fun to work with. They wrote their own scrips, and chose their costumes… and their enthusiasm was infectious. Thanks guys! We can’t wait to visit Australia and see you both again!
We all know how important it is to stay in shape. Landscape photographers have to be able to hike long distances while carrying lots of heavy gear – so we work out year round to stay healthy and strong. With this video, we’re taking you behind the scenes… into the incredible, secret world of Landscape Photography Training! ;)

There is nothing more remarkable to me than the power of nature. It is both cataclysmic and subtle. Slow and continuous erosion by water and wind can create landscapes every bit as astonishing as those shaped by catastrophic events – and minuscule details can be as breathtaking as grand vistas that stretch from one horizon to the other. Nature is incredibly diverse. Burning desert sands and mossy riverbanks… Brilliant sunbeams and fading alpenglow… Silent snowfall and raging summer storms… Each offers a unique opportunity. I am irresistibly drawn to the challenge of finding my next photograph, and mastering the skills required to capture it effectively.
