Elevate your landscape photography to the next level with articles about Neutral Density Filters, also known as ND Filters. ND Filters have a variety of uses in landscape photography and nature photography. Essentially, these photography filters act like sunglasses for your camera. They uniformly reduce the amount of light coming into the lens. With less light entering the lens, the camera’s shutter stays open longer to properly expose the scene and allows motion to be captured. Often, ND Filters are used to blur moving water, smooth the surface of water, or even show motion in clouds.
Photography filters are either square or circular in shape. ND filters also come in various strengths. You can choose to use one Neutral Density Filter or stack multiple filters to provide a more dramatic effect in your Landscape Photography. The Visual Wilderness articles will offer guidance on Neutral Density Filters by explaining the different photography filter types. In addition, the articles discuss the importance of using them in various scenarios, and offer advice on avoiding common Neutral Density Filter pitfalls such as color cast and light leak.
