Creating a Sense of Place
The experience of landscape photography can be conveyed to the viewer by not only the subject but also the environment in which you photographed it. Often this proves to be difficult especially when the subject competes too much with the background. Jay uses a simple technique of shallow DOF combined with a carefully chosen subject to capture a sense of place.

Short and sweet, to the point. Thanks for the video!
It’s one of the things I try to figure out when shooting close-ups is how much “information”
I want to include in the background and how sharp do I want it to be.
Looking forward to friendlier weather to get outside again and start shooting some nature.
Cheers,
Bruce
Thanks for the comments…Yeah we can all use warmer weather. ;)
