Beginner Landscape Photography Tips

Falling into the category of beginner landscape photography is an exciting and even daunting period for every photographer.  The path from beginner to master has a few common stops in landscape photography.  For one, every beginner landscape photographer must learn to shoot with his or her camera properly. They need to understand exposure, aperture, focus, and other technical aspects. Furthermore, landscape photographers need to work with different camera lenses, filters, light, and weather in various environments.

Along with learning to shoot, post-processing is more accessible than ever with digital cameras and the assortment of photo editing software options. Just a few basic post-processing techniques can elevate photos to a whole new level.  Visual Wilderness’ articles, ebooks, and tutorials outline the best practices for creating a photography workflow. Our materials teach post-processing tips for beginners, in an easy to understand approach paired with real world examples.

In addition to the technical skills, impactful landscape photography includes harnessing the creative realm. The basic rules of composition and framing are common and important lessons.  However, creativity isn’t meant to be contained in a box with rules. Breaking the rules is just as important as knowing them.  Learning to work different types of light, colors, and weather conditions to the advantage of the photographer can open the doors to creativity and unleashes unlimited possibilities to tell a story or convey a mood through an image to a viewer.

The pros photographers at Visual Wilderness can mentor individuals interested in beginner landscape photography whether you desire to start learning shooting basics, navigate post-processing best practices, or discover tips on thinking and shooting creatively. Moreover, our photographers even disclose business ideas and strategies to pursue photography as a career and job. For more specific details, check our Landscape Photography Guide for Beginners.
