I really enjoyed the Behind the Lens course. It is the best of all the courses you’ve made. I own every one of your webinars and courses and this one was as intuitive as any of them.
The Hyperfocal Distance Course is excellent and enlightening. It will definitely come in useful when I go to the Yading Nature Reserve in China next week on a photography trip.
PERFECT FOR THE BEGINNER AND BEYOND – Brilliant! Your course is perfect for the beginner and beyond. I have used Lightroom for 2-3 years now and this course was a perfect way to reinforce what I already know and to add to my knowledge base. Your teaching manner is clear and enjoyable. Being a former teacher I value those skills – which are not necessarily found in many online courses! I’m looking forward to more that you might offer in the future.
I have been trying to understand Hyperfocal Distance since I first picked up a camera about a year ago. I have had several people explain it to me, but I never understood it as well as I do after watching your tutorials. They are so clear and easy to understand.
I appreciate your combined abilities to teach me at my level on the photography learning curve.
I thoroughly enjoyed the video courses by Varina and Jay Patel. Their clear presentation style and real life examples of their teaching enabled me to rapidly understand and put into practice what they were teaching. Their style is quite personal as if you were on site with them. Excellent photography in the examples supports the learning experience. Histograms were always a bit of a mystery. Seeing how to use them to improve my “in-camera” results will enable me to get the results I see in the field.
My wife and I bought your video courses In Sharp Focus and Hyperfocal Distance. We loved them!!
And thanks for making such awesome Videos Courses! These have been a huge help in my photography development. 😉
Excellent training. I love the way you folks transmit your volumes of knowledge to us. Easy to learn and follow. Beautiful job.
The Ultimate Landscape Photography Course is excellent… I look forward to being able to attend one of your courses or expeditions and working with you some day.
Hi Josh, being able to pause and re-run sections was invaluable.. Also, the pace of the tutorials seems to suit me and I liked the way you didn’t edit word slips – I felt like I was listening to a live course with the benefit of being able to go back and review. Two or three hours spent following your course has left me comfortable in the Photoshop environment, which I have never been before despite many hours of reading or watching other tutorials. You do a very fine job.
I’ve just finished watching your tutorial for the third time and wanted to let you know how amazing it was! I live on a very small island in the middle of nowhere & don’t get to many photography workshops… so the way I learn is through tutorials. Yours are, by far, the best I’ve seen. LOVED the way you broke it down into little episodes – this gave me the chance the watch one video & then work on my own photos to get it into my head & then move onto the next one!! You’ve made them very entertaining & super-easy to follow along – I just loved it, Thank you!! 🙂
Josh Cripps is hands down one of the leading video tutorial instructors I have come across. For many months I have scoured the internet trying to find someone who could teach me basic, intermediate and advanced techniques in Photoshop. Well spoken, clear and concise instruction, easy to understand and a great sense of humour. Thanks for all your effort in putting these tutorials together Josh, I look forward to all the ones I don’t yet own!
Where have you been, Joshua? I’ve spent thousands of dollars in video tutorials like this one. Your video tutorials are the best I’ve ever purchased. It is very easy to absorb and understand. Keep up the good work! I will definitely recommend your video tutorials to all my friends who are learning Photoshop.
EVERYTHING NOW MAKES SENSE I had given up on Lightroom due to its complexities, but after seeing Anne’s video course everything now makes sense. The numerous bite-sized video approach helped to get me started again. Anne’s voice is amazingly relaxed & easy on the ear. Lightroom is my go place when I am “cooking” my Raw photos, and now, thanks to the course, my family gets to see the photos I take.
GUIDES THE VIEWER ALONG WITHOUT DROWNING IN EXTRANEOUS DETAIL – An excellent primer on Lightroom directed at the novice. Anne’s narrative cuts right to the heart of the program and guides the beginner along by showing how things work without drowning in extraneous detail. Anne is very wise in that she shows how to turn off many of the program’s functions that can overwhelm the novice and, instead, concentrates on those tools and functions that beginners will most likely need and actually use. I highly recommend Anne’s Lightroom Video Course to anyone just starting with Lightroom.
Not only are the videos excellent, especially for a beginner photographer like me, but the customer support is the best I have ever had! Well done and thank you Jay and Varina!
Histograms Exposed is a great tutorial too – I learned some stuff myself, as I didn’t realize you could even get a live view of your histogram before you took a shot! Love learning new techniques! 🙂
Varina is an exceptional teacher (I’ve experienced hundreds over the years and she is among the very best, if not at the top). These case studies are an exceptional complement to the fieldwork teachings where both Varina and Jay excel with their skills and explanations. The Ultimate Landscape Photography Course is a MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE for anyone wanting to get into or improve their skills in this field.
Jay and Varina do a great job of instructing through your video’s. I’ve brought some other big name Landscape photographers but Visual Wilderness Video Tutorials are much better quality!
There are only a handful of teaching voices that speak directly to me. I can honestly say that of those few voices that resonate so clearly with me, yours has risen to the top and then some.
Varina and Jay will go the extra mile in making sure you understand the concepts.
VERY EASY TO UNDERSTAND – I found Anne’s video course very easy to understand and the way she broke up each component was perfect, as was the flow of work. There was enough information in each component for a beginner like myself without being overwhelming. The pace of the course was very nice too. It gave a very realistic workflow that made sense.
Like all other educational material that you’ve produced, the Essential Filter Course is simply wonderful! You both have the gift for imparting knowledge in a simple and straightforward manner.
Visual Wilderness offers outstanding Educational Products quite different from what is on offer in the landscape photography market.
Jay and Varina Patel’s Ultimate Landscape Photography Course has been a great resource to help me in my journey towards taking great photos. Their presentations are in the terrific clear, simple, engaging style that they use in their workshops. Their content is comprehensive and includes handy tips and information that I haven’t seen elsewhere on the net.
Having Jay and Varina as instructors opens up a totally new perspective to Landscape photography.
Varina – this is EXACTLY what I have been studying these days and you have solved a huge mystery for me with this explanation of hyperfocal distance. I’m going to put your chart in my iPhone so I have it with me when I’m out in the field.
This is great! Been wanting to understand and apply Hyperfocal Distance in my photography.
I bought several of your Video Courses and I just love them. They are enthusiastic, the information is easy to understand and to the point. It makes me want to run out and try all your tips . Best of all the photography from all over the world is just fantastic! Great work! Will be watching for more!
Please don’t change except to continue to bring the best possible learning experiences to anybody that wants to be the best possible photographer and learn to understand and practice photography to the best of their ability.
