Their easy approach, pace, and personalities make the learning process much easier and enjoyable.
I have to say, you both are great teachers. I’ve learned so much from The Ultimate Landscape Photography & Focus courses I’ve purchased.
I have been enjoying your videos from Hyperfocal Distance and The Ultimate Landscape Photography Courses. And I must say you – Jay and Varina – explain photography really well. And I love the humour that you guys bring.
There are only a handful of teaching voices that speak directly to me. I can honestly say that of those few voices that resonate so clearly with me, yours has risen to the top and then some.
I thoroughly enjoyed the video courses by Varina and Jay Patel. Their clear presentation style and real life examples of their teaching enabled me to rapidly understand and put into practice what they were teaching. Their style is quite personal as if you were on site with them. Excellent photography in the examples supports the learning experience. Histograms were always a bit of a mystery. Seeing how to use them to improve my “in-camera” results will enable me to get the results I see in the field.
I didn’t know Histograms could be so easily manipulated with such awesome results. I purchased this a few weeks, ago, and have viewed all the videos five or six times. Having been a public school teacher for 40+ years before retiring, I know what makes excellent teaching, and you, two, are some of the best instructors I’ve seen in the field of photography. Keep up the great work, and keep adding new additions to your ebooks and videos collections.
I used both Hyperlocal Distance techniques (for playa shots) and fast shutter techniques (for crashing surf) that I learned from The Ultimate Landscape Course. It was very helpful.
There’s so many free videos out there it’s easy to be overwhelmed. The Ultimate Landscape Photography Course breaks down the fundamental knowledge you need for landscape photography and shows you how to use that knowledge in an actual photo shoot. That makes it a lot easier to figure out where you’re going wrong when you’re not getting the result you’re after. It’s worth every cent!
Thank you for your Hyperfocal Distance Course. That answered and made it so easy to understand what HD is and how and when to use. Perfect.
I am looking forward to completing the Creating Impact Course. You and Varina do an excellent job of teaching key photographing techniques. Watching your video’s is like having my own personal instructor!
I would like to complement Jay, Varina and your Visual Wilderness associates for making such well thought out photo training & guidance videos. They are topical, have a clear structure to help in the learning process and good quality.
I retired from forty years of teaching elementary and middle school math/science students. As a former Indiana Teacher of the Year and and inducted member into the NATIONAL TEACHERS HALL OF FAME, I know what makes great teachers, and believe me, you and Varina Patel are excellent at what you do because you take complex topics and make them so simple to understand. Better yet, you teach your lessons directly from the field, on site—the very best possible way to teach.
The Ultimate Landscape Photography Course is excellent… I look forward to being able to attend one of your courses or expeditions and working with you some day.
Hi amazing people at Visual Wilderness…Two thumbs up on your Histograms Exposed Course.
I love the Visual Wilderness Video Courses! And you have great customer service as well 🙂
Where have you been, Joshua? I’ve spent thousands of dollars in video tutorials like this one. Your video tutorials are the best I’ve ever purchased. It is very easy to absorb and understand. Keep up the good work! I will definitely recommend your video tutorials to all my friends who are learning Photoshop.
CLEAR AND CONCISE – I have just viewed segments 1 – 3 and wow, it is great! Not too much information in one hit, very pleasant to listen to, clear and concise! Your course is just what I have been looking for and I feel ready to launch into Lightroom now. You sure make it seem a lot more user friendly for the beginner.
